If you do not agree with the items listed as failures on this Refusal of an MOT Test Certificate, you may appeal. IF YOU WISH TO APPEAL DO NOT HAVE YOUR VEHICLE REPAIRED before such an appeal test is carried out. Any change in the vehicle condition may affect the outcome of your appeal.

The current appeal fee (the same as the test fee) must be recieved at your local VOSA office within 14 working days of the date of the refusal notice being issued. If your appeal is successful, the fee, or appropriate part of it, will be returned to you.

If withing 28 days of the test (or 3 months for rust and corrosion related issues) you think that the vehicle should not have passed WHEN IT WAS TESTED please phone VOSA on 0870 60 60 440.* Calls are charged at national rates.
